How to start a website.

1. If you want to start a website you first need to decide what you want your website to be about. There are so many different things that people like to do on the web and things that they might be looking for, but most importantly you should make a site that is something you love doing.

2. Register a domain name. (Like mysite.com or what ever fits what your site will be about.) register your site name at like www.godaddy.com

3. Get web hosting. (shop around the net, search via google.com for "top webhosts" my recommendation would be godaddy.com) to start out.

4. Get A FTP program. Download a free FTP (file transfer protocol) program like cuteftp you can search google for that as well "free ftp program" or sourceforge.net to find one for free. or you can also buy one.

5. Get nerdy Learn HTML, CSS. PHP and java script helps too. Here are two links to help you become a Professional web programmer. If you put a lot of time into it you will be really good at coding.

6. GET THESE PROGRAMS to make the web images yourself (unless hiring a designer) Prettycrunk hires various designers for layouts and graphics and even artical writers.

adobe photoshop CS2
Fireworks version CS3
adobe Flash CS3
adobe dreamweaver CS3 (Helps with web coding.) it's not needed because you can always use notepad that comes with Windows instead or your favorite text editor.

7. Publish your website (publish means to make available via the internet for the world to see. using FTP program to upload your content to the host

8. Promote your website promote
